In just 20 minutes, 2 inches of rain fell and high winds pelted hail down on our crops. Near the house, plants that only days before had yielded our first ripe tomato were shredded. In the field, there were only skeletal remains of once-lush crops. In the orchard, apricots and peaches were heavily damaged. Vines were stripped of grapes. Nothing was left except the hope that replanting will still allow us to open our produce stand later in the summer.
